Day: Monday, 6th of June 2014.
Time: 01:30 P.m.
Anna held Sheila’s hand tightly, as she paid for the groceries they had shopped for. “Mom I want some noodles” little Sheila requested, as they walked towards the exit. Anna sighed. “Okay dear,” she said, turning around.
“Hey!,” she yelled out as she bumped into someone. She bent down immediately and adjusted some strands of her pitch, black, curly hair to the back of her ear in preparation to gather the already scattered groceries. “Let me help you” she raised her head up, to see a black man who looked thirty-five.
A small of his white teeth showed as he gave her a bright smile. His light brown eyes were radiant and his well-built chest muscles showed in his white T-shirt. She blushed and withdrew her hand immediately.
“I’m sorry,” she said in embarrassment, as she stood up gently. Mr handsome handed her the groceries. “I’m sorry,” he paused. “Collins,” he said, as she collected them. “No…no problem,” Anna stammered as she looked at the charming man that stood before her, sweat dripped from her back down to her waist. “Anna,” she whispered.
Sheila frowned, pressing her mom’s hand as she looked at the man before them in disapproval. “Mom… The noodles?” she exclaimed. “Oh OK!,” Anna replied her, grabbing her little hand.
“Thank you,” she smiled at Collins. He gave her a wink and walked away. Sheila noticed the way her mom stared at him as he walked out of the supermarket.
She shrugged in confession, as she too couldn’t deny he was handsome, but her mom was married, and she was the result of the marriage! She became furious. “Let’s go home, mom. I don’t want the noodles anymore.” She released her hands from her mom’s and walked towards the exit.
Anna ran towards her daughter in confusion. “What is wrong honey?” she held her hand again. “Nothing,” Sheila said as they walked out of the supermarket…
